Option 1: Everyday Protective Balm

1. Scoop a small amount of balm with clean fingertips.
2. Warm between your fingers until it softens and melts — the Candelilla Wax and Mango Butter base liquefies on contact with body heat.
3. Press and smooth onto dry areas — hands, elbows, knees, lips, or anywhere that needs a protective moisture layer.
4. Skin should feel supple, conditioned, and comfortably shielded by the multi-oil blend of Grape Seed, Olive, and Jojoba Seed Oils.

Option 2: Baby Care Gentle Application

1. After bath time, pat baby's skin completely dry with a soft towel.
2. Warm a pea-sized amount between your fingertips until it melts into a silky oil.
3. Apply with gentle, feather-light strokes to cheeks, chin, diaper area, or any patches that look or feel dry — the Calendula Flower Extract and fragrance-free formula are designed for the most delicate skin.
4. Use as needed throughout the day at diaper changes or after face washing — the anhydrous formula creates a soft, breathable barrier.

Option 3: Overnight Multi-Zone Intensive

1. At the end of your evening routine, apply a generous layer of balm to your driest, most overworked areas — cuticles, heels, elbows, and knuckles.
2. For cracked heels, apply a thick layer and cover with cotton socks before bed.
3. For hands, massage the Carrot Seed Oil, Poppy Seed Oil, and Sesame Seed Oil–rich balm into each finger, around the nails, and across the backs of the hands, then slip on cotton gloves.

What causes balm to become gritty after production, even if it was smooth at Quality Control release?

Grittiness in balms (like lip balm) typically results from improper cooling after manufacturing. Butters contain various fatty acids with different melting points. If cooled slowly at room temperature, these fatty acids may crystallize unevenly, resulting in a gritty texture. Rapid cooling, such as in a fridge or freezer, helps prevent this by minimizing crystallization. NourishUs Naturals does not release gritty balms, so most likely if gritty balms are received it is due to transport.
During transportation, temperature fluctuations (especially in shipping trucks) can cause balms to melt and re-solidify. This re-solidification, especially when slow, can again lead to graininess due to the separation of fatty acids.

To fix gritty balm:

Gently re-melt it in a double boiler, stirring occasionally to ensure even heat distribution. Once entirely melted, pour it into containers and cool quickly.
