Incorporate into the water phase or during cool-down (below 60°C/140°F) post-emulsification. For optimal preservative efficacy, adjust formulation pH to below 5.5; often paired with potassium sorbate. Pre-dissolve in water or glycerin if needed. 

  • Solubility: Soluble in: water, ethanol (sparingly), glycerin, propylene glycol. Dispersible in: water.  
  • Processing Temperature: Add at: cool-down (below 140°F / 60°C) or water phase at 140°F (60°C) / 60°C. Heat tolerance: >572°F / 300°C. Avoid: none. 
  • Melting Point / Form: 572°F / 300°C (decomposes) 
  • Recommended Phase: Water phase (cool-down) 
  • Recommended pH: Active at pH ≤ 5.5
