Safflower Oleosomes & Water is a naturally derived emulsion system composed of oleosomes extracted from Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) dispersed in water. Oleosomes are naturally occurring lipid structures found in plant seeds that function as self-emulsifying delivery systems, containing both oil and structural phospholipids.

In cosmetic formulations, safflower oleosomes are valued for their ability to provide lightweight moisturization and improved skin feel, helping support the appearance of soft, smooth, and well-hydrated skin. Unlike traditional oils, oleosomes deliver emollience in a more stable, fluid format, making them especially suitable for modern, light-textured formulations such as lotions, creams, serums, and sprays.

Product Information

Mix well before use. Incorporate into the water phase or during cooldown depending on formulation. Can be used in both hot and cold process systems. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution.

  • Emulsion: slowly add oil to Safflower Oleosomes while mixing at 400 rpm for 20-30 minutes. Then, while stirring (< 60°C/140°F), add the mixture to the water phase, followed by the addition of thickeners.
  • Water-based or surfactant gels: premix Safflower Oleosomes with water soluble actives at 400 rpm for 20-30 minutes and then add it to the main batch while stirring.
