Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein is a low molecular weight protein hydrolysate derived from wheat germ. This water-soluble conditioning agent offers film-forming and humectant properties that help improve the appearance of skin and hair in formulations. It supports moisture retention and enhances skin feel in creams, lotions, serums, and eye treatments, while conditioning hair in shampoos, conditioners, and styling products.

Product Information

Incorporate into the water phase of emulsions. No heating required; compatible with typical cosmetic pH ranges. Water-soluble with no special handling needed.

  • Solubility: Soluble in: water. Dispersible in: glycerin, propylene glycol.  
  • Processing Temperature: Add at: cool-down below 104°F (40°C).  Heat tolerance: up to 104°F (40°C). Avoid: temperatures above 104°F (40°C), freezing., 
  • Melting Point / Form: Liquid at room temperature. 
  • Recommended Phase: Water phase (cool-down), Cool-down phase (post-emulsion, below 104°F / 40°C) 
  • Recommended pH: Stable across pH 4.0 – 7.0
