Guar Gum (Responsibly Grown)

Disperse Guar Gum into the water phase with good agitation and allow it to fully hydrate to build viscosity. It is a natural thickener and conditioning agent that works especially well with cationic ingredients.

Option 1: Shampoos and Conditioners

Use at 0.2-1% to thicken and add conditioning, leaving hair with a smooth, soft feel.

Option 2: Liquid Soaps and Body Washes

Use at 0.2-1% to build viscosity and improve the sensory glide of surfactant systems.

Option 3: Creams and Lotions

Use at 0.1-0.5% to stabilize emulsions and add a light, conditioning body.

Option 4: To Add to a Finished Base

To add Guar Gum to a finished cosmetic base, pre-disperse the powder in a small amount of glycerin or a non-solvent, then stir this slurry into the finished base while mixing to avoid clumping. Add gradually (around 0.2-1%) and allow it to fully hydrate to develop viscosity. Confirm the finished texture and stability before packaging.
