Add to the oil phase of emulsions or blend into anhydrous products. May require gentle melting before use, as it solidifies below approximately 76°F (24°C). Compatible with hot and cold process methods.

Option 1: Body Butters & Balms

Use at 5–30% in anhydrous body butters and balms. Melt gently before use as it solidifies below about 76°F (24°C); contributes a rich, occlusive feel and firmer set as it cools.

Option 2: Emulsified Lotions & Creams

Add at 2–15% to the oil phase of lotions and creams. Provides a smooth, cushioned skin feel; incorporate while warm and mix through cool down to maintain a uniform texture.

Option 3: Cold-Process Soaps & Cleansing Bars

Use at 15–30% of the oil portion in cold-process soaps. Contributes hardness and a bubbly lather; balance with conditioning oils to avoid an overly stripping bar.

Option 4: To Add to a Finished Base

To add virgin coconut oil to a finished cosmetic base, melt it gently to a liquid state at approximately 25–30°C (77–86°F) if it is solid. Incorporate at 1–10% of the total product weight, adding slowly with continuous stirring while the base is warm enough to remain fluid. Allow to cool with ongoing mixing, then assess consistency — note that coconut oil may contribute a firmer texture as the product cools.
