• Can be used on the hair and skin as a restorative moisturizing treatment. Consider applying Castor Oil to the hair as a pre-shampoo mask.

Add to the oil phase of your formulation, or use at up to 100% in anhydrous products. Its thick, slippery texture blends well with lighter carrier oils to balance viscosity.

Option 1: Lip Balms and Lipsticks

Use at 5% to 40% in lip products for its characteristic slip and glossy, cushioning feel that helps lips look smooth and feel conditioned.

Option 2: Emulsified Creams and Lotions

Add at 2% to 10% to the oil phase to contribute a rich, moisturizing feel and support a smooth application.

Option 3: Hair and Body Oils

Blend at 5% to 25% with lighter carrier oils to deliver slip and shine while keeping the overall texture manageable.

Option 4: To Add to a Finished Base

To add Castor Oil to a finished cosmetic base, gently warm the base if needed to ease blending, then stir the castor oil in thoroughly and evenly. Because it is thick, pre-blending with a lighter carrier oil helps it disperse. Carefully measure the oil and the base to reach your target concentration, mixing slowly until fully uniform, then confirm texture before packaging.
