Option 1: Rinse-Off Facial Mask

Disperse at 5% to 20% into the water phase to build a smooth, spreadable clay mask with a matte, mineral finish. Pre-mix into water with steady stirring to form a lump-free paste before combining with other ingredients.

Option 2: Clarifying Body Scrub

Incorporate at 3% to 10% into a rinse-off body scrub to add slip, body, and a smooth, easy-rinsing sensory feel. Blend into the wet phase gradually to avoid clumping.

Option 3: Cleansing Powder-to-Paste

Pre-blend at 10% to 40% with other dry ingredients in an anhydrous cleansing powder that activates into a smooth paste on contact with water. Confirm the final feel is silky and free of grit.

Option 4: To Add to a Finished Base

To add bentonite clay to a finished cosmetic product, first pre-disperse the powder in a small amount of cosmetic water and mix steadily until you have a smooth, lump-free paste. Fold this slurry slowly into your finished base while stirring, working toward a typical use rate of roughly 1% to 5% depending on the desired thickness and slip. Because bentonite swells and absorbs water, add it gradually and mix thoroughly to avoid clumping and to keep the product homogeneous. After incorporation, check the final pH and adjust if needed, since the added clay can shift the value depending on the other ingredients present. This ingredient is best suited to rinse-off applications.
