Incorporate into the oil phase of emulsions. Avoid heating above 50°C (122°F) to preserve activity; add a chelating agent (e.g., 0.2% Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate) to prevent discoloration from metals. Final product pH should be below 6.0.

Option 1: Facial Serums & Oil Treatments

Use at 0.5-2% in the oil phase of leave-on facial serums and oil treatments, added below 50 degrees Celsius. Keep the final product below pH 6.0 and add a chelating agent to help prevent discoloration.

Option 2: Moisturizers, Lotions & Creams

Incorporate at 0.5-1% into the oil phase of oil-in-water emulsions during the heated or cool-down phase. Soluble in plant oils and emollients for easy dispersion.

Option 3: Balms & Anhydrous Blends

Add at 0.5-2% to anhydrous balms and oil blends, avoiding prolonged heat above 75 degrees Celsius. Mix well for uniform distribution in the finished product.

Option 4: To Add to a Finished Base

To add Bakuchiol to a finished cosmetic product, pre-mix the measured liquid into a small amount of a compatible carrier oil or emollient, since it is oil-soluble and disperses best in the oil-compatible portion of a base, at a typical use level of about 0.5% to 2%. Stir it into an oil-rich lotion, balm, or emulsion at room temperature, avoiding added heat above 50 degrees Celsius to preserve the ingredient. Adding a small amount of chelating agent can help limit discoloration from trace metals in the base. After incorporating, confirm the product remains homogeneous and verify the final pH stays below 6.0.
