Add to the oil phase of emulsions or anhydrous products. Melt before use. Compatible with hot and cold process methods, including cold-process soap.

Option 1: Anhydrous Body Balm

Add at 3% to 15% to the oil phase of a body balm, pre-melted since it is solid at room temperature, for a lightweight, non-greasy emollient feel that melts on contact with skin. Blend thoroughly for even distribution.

Option 2: Hair Pomade

Use at 5% to 20% in an anhydrous hair pomade to add smooth slip and a light conditioning finish. Melt with the other lipids and mix until uniform.

Option 3: Cold-Process Bar

Include at 5% to 25% of the oil phase in a cold-process cleansing bar to contribute a firm, smooth bar with a light skin feel. Melt before adding and blend into the fat phase.

Option 4: To Add to a Finished Base

To add babassu oil to a finished cosmetic product, gently pre-melt it since it is solid at room temperature, then stir the liquid oil into an oil-based or anhydrous base. Incorporate it at a typical use rate of about 3% to 15% in balms and body products, using more where a richer feel is wanted. Because it melts near skin temperature and is oil-soluble, blend it thoroughly for even distribution. After the product cools and sets, confirm it is homogeneous with a smooth, consistent texture.
